My First Wedding Of The Year!

“January Was A Tough Year, But We Made It”

Let’s be honest, I’m sure this humorous quote resonated with a few of us at the start of 2019. But as we sail on through February, everyone’s January blues seem to be wearing off. But most importantly for me, wedding season has finally begun! A couple of weekends ago (2nd Feb 2019) I had the honour of performing at Jordan & Mark’s wedding at Colwick Hall in Nottinghamshire. Colwick Hall is only 20 minutes down the road from me and I drive past it almost every week. But funnily enough I had never been there before - What a hidden gem it turned out to be! I managed to take a photo of the ballroom before the guests arrived (see the photo below). It’s always a great moment arriving at the venue early to see all the decorations and arrangements in place.

Ceremony at Colwick Hall

After performing a few songs during the ceremony in this beautiful ballroom - one of which was an all time ceremony favourite of mine, Can’t Help Falling In Love - The wedding proceeded into the lounge next door for the drinks reception, where a few outdoor photos and a candy cart raid were accompanied by a couple of hours of live music. Providing this configuration of performances was part of my Daytime Package, allowing the guests to be seamlessly entertained leaving Jordan & Mark to celebrate with their family and guests. As the room was turned around for the wedding breakfast, my next job was to set up a PA system for their speeches. A lot of venues don’t have a PA system/Microphone readily available to use, and usually the room in which you are in is too large to wing it without one. This is another service included in the Daytime Package to give you peace of mind on your special day.

As the room was turned around once again for the evening party, part 3 of this wonderful day was about to take place! Jordan & Mark had asked me to perform their first dance song which is always such an honour. Followed by an additional 45 minute set which was the perfect touch before transitioning into the evening disco provided by Matthew Foote of Suresound Entertainment.

All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to start off the wedding season. Special thanks to Jordan & Mark for having me and of course, a huge congratulations once again on their big day.
